Rachel Singhisen

Rachel Singhisen, 78, died Thursday, April, 24, 2008, in Wichita.

She was born Oct. 25, 1929, at Independence, Mo., the daughter of Floyd and Ada Stout.

In 1986, she moved to Wichita from Ensign, where she was a retired cook and homemaker.

She is a former member of the Ensign chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and played organ and piano for the Methodist church.

On Sept. 9, 1959, she married Charles Singhisen of Follett, Texas, in Albuquerque, N.M. He died on April 23, 2008.

Survivors include a sister, Rebecca Richardson, Monet, Mo.; four sons, Thomas Copeland of Astoria, Ore., Richard Singhisen, Ingalls, Mark Singhisen, Garden City, and Dan Singhisen, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel in Shattuck, Okla., with Wes Peterman, pastor of the Laverne Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery in Shattuck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ensign Order of Eastern Star.
