ULYSSES -- Veronika Ainsley McDaniel, 15, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Ulysses.
She was born June 14, 1992, in Garden City to Nick and Dana Y. Sthole McDaniel.
Veronika was a sophomore at Ulysses High School. She worked on and painted cars, and she was a waitress at Peddlers Inn Restaurant. She loved animals, people and texting on her phone.
Survivors include her father of Holcomb; her mother of Ulysses; two brothers, Ian and Collin, both of Holcomb; one sister, Darcy, of Holcomb; grandparents Judith Sthole, Ulysses, June Mason, Ulysses, and Garland Mason, Nevada, Mo.; great-grandparents Norman and Margaret Powers, Buhler; and aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gayland Sthole, and two cousins.
Funeral is at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Ulysses Mennonite Brethren Church in Ulysses, with the Rev. Nathan Gift officiating. Internment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
