Myranda Hope Mason

ULYSSES -- Myranda Hope Mason, 16, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Ulysses.

She was born Jan. 7, 1992, in Johnson City to Brian and Susan Sthole Mason.

Myranda was a sophomore at Ulysses High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the concert choir. She also was a member of the Ulysses Mennonite Brethren Church of Ulysses.

Survivors include her parents; three brothers, Jesse Cantrell and Mickey Mason, both of Ulysses, and Dalton Kincaid of Fairfield, Ill.; grandmother Judy Sthole, Ulysses; grandparents James and Carol McDaniel of Minieska, Minn., and Ortencia and Frank Carrillo of Johnson City; great-grandparents Norman and Margaret Powers; and aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Gayland Sthole and two cousins.

Funeral is at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Ulysses Mennonite Brethren Church in Ulysses, with the Rev. Nathan Gift officiating. Internment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to the Ulysses Mennonite Brethren Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
