Donna L. Edmiston

Donna L. Edmiston, 82, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Garden City to Raymond and Bessie Roy Plotner. A lifetime resident, she attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School.

On Oct. 13, 1945, she married George J. Sinclair in Cimarron. He died Oct. 3, 1961.

She later married Richard T. Edmiston on June 8, 1971 in Del Rio, Texas. He died March 10, 1999. She also is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Plotner; and a sister, Virginia Partin.

Mrs. Edmiston worked for many years as a sales clerk at Duckwalls, Alco and K-Mart. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, listening to the Gaither's, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church in Garden City.

Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Stimatze of Garden City; two sons, Ronald Sinclair of Garden City and Orrin Sinclair of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Ochs of Gillette, Wyo.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Paul Klaus presiding. Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.
