Marjorie Joyce Cooper, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
She was born July 5, 1924, in Kremlin, Okla., to F.O. and Lida Marie Anderson Rush.
A resident of Garden City since 1997, moving from Billings, Okla., Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker. While working as a "Rosie the Riveter" at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City during World War II, she met Herman O. Cooper whom she married on July 11, 1944, in Amarillo, Texas. He died Nov. 23, 2002, in Garden City. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William D. Rush; and a sister, Dorotha H. Bolick.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Methodist Church of Billings. She enjoyed crosswords and word puzzles and watching sports on television.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl J. Dick and Janis K. Cornett. both of Garden City; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, with the Rev. David Bell officiating.
