Louise Smith

HUGOTON — Louise Ann Smith, 67, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at her home in Canyon Lake, Texas.

She was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Hugoton, to Claude and Pauline Horner Beavers. She attended school in Hugoton.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Canyon Lake Ladies Golf Association and the Buffalo Girls. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, cooking, sewing, sharing her talents with friends and family, collecting arrowheads and her dog, Pickles.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby L. Smith; three sons, Gentry Trahern of Borger, Texas, Flint Trahern of Chico, Texas, and Troy Trahern of Sunray, Texas; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Todd and Sandi Smith, both of Midland, Texas; two stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Doyle Beavers of Bowie, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Beavers; and a sister, Claudine Oder.

A memorial service was 1 p.m. Saturday at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Hugoton Cemetery, under the direction of Paul's Funeral Home of Hugoton.
