Etnah Morgan

Published 7/2/2009 in Obituaries

Etnah M. Morgan, 63, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her home in rural Kearny County.

She was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Garden City, to George and Ida Beaty McKinney. She graduated from Syracuse High School and attended Garden City Community College and Dodge City Community College.

On June 13, 1965, she married Gary L. Morgan in Syracuse.

Mrs. Morgan spent most of her life on the farm in Kearny County. She was proud of the success she established with her business, Tax Time, from 1992 to 2002 in Johnson City. She enjoyed spending time at their home in Cripple Creek, Colo., playing keno, cooking, organizing and hosting family dinners and reunions, crafts, and making Christmas stockings, wall hangings, rugs, calendars and photo albums. She was proud of her involvement in the fundraisers for families in their time of need.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Gary D. Morgan of Ulysses; two daughters, Sheri Morris of Webb City, Mo., and Vonda Loeppke of Colwich; a sister, Mary Ann Dugan of Soldier; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Darrell McKinney.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakin United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dave Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. Memorials are suggested to Kearny County 4-H Council, in care of the funeral home, Box 91, Lakin, KS 67860.
