Debra Hassler

JOHNSON CITY — Debra Lorraine Hassler, 48, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at her home in Johnson City.

She was born March 21, 1961, in Syracuse, to John Walter and Ethel Lola Pope Lundblade. She graduated from Lakin High School in 1979. While in high school, she began working at IBP, where she was employed for five years. In 1984, she moved to Guymon, Okla., and began working at Swift Packing, working there for two years.

In September 1985, she married John Franklin Hassler in Syracuse. They moved to Johnson City and she worked for the Syracuse Commission Co. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening, collecting owls and angels, cattle, riding horses, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Ethel Lola Bliss of Syracuse; three sons, Justin Hassler of Norton, Daniel Hassler of Syracuse, and Jeremy Hassler of Salina; two daughters, Dedra and Rachel Dawn Hassler, both of Johnson City; three brothers, Vernon Roy and Wayne Eugene Lundblade, both of Syracuse, and John Wesley Lundblade of Sublette; two sisters, Diane Corina Edwards of Goodman, Mo., and Virginia Lee Murphy of Syracuse; two grandchildren; and an aunt. She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Darla Jo Hassler; and a sister, Lola Jean Beardsley.

Graveside service will be 9 a.m. MDT Tuesday at Syracuse Cemetery.

Debra and I were school friends back in the early 80's she and I were long time friends. I WILL MISS YOU DEB. Rest in peace. May God be with your family. Love always Connie (Gatlin)Force.
