Charles Singhisen

WICHITA -- Charles Singhisen, 76, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Wichita.

He was born June 23, 1931, at Follett, Texas, the son of Edward and Vernie Combs Singhisen.

A resident of Wichita since 1986, he was formerly of Ensign.

He was a retired mechanical engineer, past master of Ensign Masonic Lodge, former member of the Ensign chapter of Order of Eastern Star, grand master of the Wichita Community Daylight Masonic Lodge No. 453, and member of the Wichita Scottish Rite.

On Sept. 9, 1959, he married Rachel Spady of Independence, Mo., in Albuquerque, N.M. She died on April 24, 2008.

Survivors include four sons, Thomas Copeland of Astoria, Ore., Richard Singhisen, Ingalls, Mark Singhisen, Garden City, and Dan Singhisen, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel in Shattuck, Okla., with Wes Peterman, pastor of the Laverne Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery in Shattuck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Follett Education Fund, Ensign Masonic Lodge, Wichita Scottish Rite or Wichita Community Daylight Lodge No. 453.
