Betty Woodward

SCOTT CITY — Betty Jean Woodward, 83, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.

She was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Sedalia, Mo., to Paul M. and Iantha L. Blaine Kitterman.

A resident of Scott City since 1939, moving from Sedalia, Mrs. Woodward was a homemaker. She was a member of Community Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary, both at Scott City.

On April 9, 1944, she married Samuel P. Woodward in Scott City. He survives. Other survivors include three nephews, Larry Turpin of Scott City, Gary Turpin of Lawrence and Dale Stephenson of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pauline Turpin; and a niece.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be at Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent at www.priceandsons.com or pricefh@wbsnet.org. Memorials are suggested to Pence Community Church or Park Lane Nursing Home, both in care of the funeral home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City, KS 67871.
