Robert Leemon Clinesmith

ROLLA -- Robert Leemon Clinesmith, 62, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

He was born March 20, 1945, in Elkhart, to Howard Leo and Leone M. Ipson Clinesmith.

A lifetime resident of Morton County, Mr. Clinesmith worked at the Co-op Service Station for 18 years in Rolla and later worked as a parts manager for Ralph's Automotive in Hugoton. He was a former member of the Rolla Fire Department and the Rolla Jaycees and served in the U.S. Navy.

On Nov. 5, 1967, he married Betty J. Wilcox in Clayton, N.M. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Richard Wayne Clinesmith of Denton, Texas, Donald Dean Clinesmith of Lubbock, Texas, and Ronald Gean Clinesmith of Hugoton; a daughter, Jennifer Rose Telford of Leedey Okla.; three brothers, Raymond Clinesmith of Ulysses, Charles Clinesmith of Hugoton, and Weldon Clinesmith of Rolla; two sisters, Esther Smith of Canyon, Colo., and Norma Keener of Hulbert, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Clinesmith; a stepbrother, Harold Clinesmith; and two sisters, Phyllis Crawford and Margaret Clinesmith.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Rolla, officiated by Sandy Ferguson, pastor. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Navy Honor Guard.

Visitation is until 8 tonight at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. A memorial has been established for the family, in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
