Gary L. Wade

Gary L. Wade, 73, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at his home in St. Joseph, Mo., surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Dodge City. He graduated from Garden City High School and attended Garden City Community College.

Mr. Wade loved boating with friends on the Missouri River and especially loved KU basketball.

Survivors include his wife, Deanne, of the home; three sons, Michael Wade of Garden City, Jeffery Wade of Udall, and David Wade of Florence, Colo.; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; two stepsons, Raymond and Randall Ruch, both of St. Joseph; two brothers, Richard Wade of Shreveport, La., and Charles Wade of Modesto, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Wade and Myrtle Liedtke; and his sister, Dorothy Kaufman.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Chapel in St. Joseph. Burial will be at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery.
