Alma Wedel

MONTEZUMA -- Alma Wedel, 94, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, where she had been a resident.

She was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Greensburg, to Henry and Sarah Schmidt Ratzlaff.

On Dec. 10, 1934, she married Lincoln Wedel in Dodge City. They moved from Moundridge to Montezuma on April 7, 1984. He died Jan. 5, 1987. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Wedel; five brothers; and three sisters.

A homemaker, Mrs. Wedel was a member of Church Of God In Christ, Mennonite, Montezuma.

Survivors include a son, Eugene Wedel of McPherson; a daughter, Carolyn Becker of Montezuma; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Montezuma Mennonite Church, officiated by Charles Schmidt, Edwin Classen and Donald Koehn, ministers. Burial will be in North Mennonite Church Cemetery, Montezuma.

Visitation is until 8 tonight at Montezuma Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the General Mission Fund at Church Of God In Christ, Mennonite, Montezuma, in care of the funeral home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.
