Donald E. Bennett, 80, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born Nov. 1, 1929, in Scott County, to Elmer and Thelma Fenton Bennett.

A resident of Garden City since 1950, moving from Iowa, Mr. Bennett worked for Kemper Automotive in Garden City for several years before opening his own business, A&B Automotive, which he retired from in the late 1990s. He was a member of the Christian faith.

Survivors include a son, Jody Bennett of Garden City; a daughter, Audrey Crain of Hays; a brother, Richard Bennett of Holcomb; two sisters, Virginia Miller of Garden City, and Margaret Tackett of Deerfield; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Anthony and Troy Bennett; and a sister, Mary Ewing.

Graveside service will be 5 p.m. Friday at Deerfield Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent at www.priceandsons.com. Memorials to the Donald Bennett Memorial Fund may be sent in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
