Man arrested on battery allegation

A man was arrested Thursday night on an allegation of aggravated battery in connection with a stabbing that occurred earlier on Thursday.

Sigfredo Renova-Marquez, 38, 4875 Hillcrest Road, Lot 31, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. at his residence, said Finney County Sheriff Kevin Bascue.

Sheriff's deputies responded to 4860 Hillcrest Road at 8:50 p.m., where Hector Melesio, 21, who also resides at 4875 Hillcrest Road, Lot 31, told deputies he had been stabbed at the home. Melesio was taken to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition was not available this morning.

Bascue said the incident still is under investigation, and the circumstances that led to the stabbing have not been determined.
