The Finney County Sheriff's Office is looking for two suspects in connection with at least two burglaries last week in Finney County and Garden City.
At 10:11 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of St. John Street and learned two Hispanic men had entered a residence through an unlocked front door and stole a television.
The suspects reportedly were seen driving off in a white SUV.
A vehicle with the same description was located after another burglary in Sagebrush Estates earlier Wednesday, Finney County Sheriff Kevin Bascue said.
Between 8 and 10 a.m. in the 3000 block of Cheyenne Autumn Drive, the owner of a residence noticed the front door to the residence was kicked in. Upon entry, the owner discovered numerous valuables were taken from the residence.
Bascue said total loss of the items taken from the residence totaled $9,483. Damage to the residence was estimated at $5,000.
"We believe those burglaries are related because of the similar description of the vehicle," Bascue said.
Another burglary in Sagebrush Estates may be related to the others, Bascue said Monday.
The other Sagebrush Estates burglary happened on Jan. 18. Owners of a residence in the 700 block of Prairieview Trail discovered after 6 p.m. that the front door to the residence had been shattered and that two 53-inch flat screen TVs had been removed.
Theft loss is valued at $3,500, and damage cost is estimated at $450.
Bascue said the sheriff's office investigations division received a tip Friday that the white SUV was in Ulysses.
Two investigators responded to Ulysses and located the suspected vehicle, a white Cadillac Escalade, Bascue said.
He said the owner was located and cooperated with deputies and gave information about the suspects.
The two suspects may be headed south to Texas and are in a different vehicle, Bascue said.
The stolen vacuum, reported stolen from the residence on Cheyenne Autumn Drive, was recovered in Satanta.
"We're still attempting to locate other property. The suspects have not been found, and we believe they have left the area," Bascue said.
Bascue said the sheriff's office believes the two suspects may be headed south to Texas and are in a different vehicle.
The sheriff's office is in the process of obtaining arrest warrants for the two suspects, Bascue said.
