The Finney County Sheriff’s office has made one arrest and is looking for another suspect in connection with a string of burglaries that happened last week in the Southwind residential community.

Hector Reyes, 17, 2508 N. Main St., was arrested Tuesday on allegation of burglary, theft and criminal damage. He is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.

On Friday, sheriff’s office officials served a search warrant at Reyes' residence. They recovered a shotgun that was reported missing from Southwind.

On Tuesday, officials served another search warrant in connection with the burglaries at 4101 E. U.S. Highway 50, Lot 151. Items reported stolen from Southwind were recovered. Total property recovered from both search warrants totaled $6,000.

After the burglaries last week, Southwind residents reported $10,000 worth of goods missing.

Sheriff Kevin Bascue said the suspects took miscellaneous items out of cars, most of which were unlocked and parked at the residences.

Bascue said the residences where the vehicles were burglarized were all on Grandview East or Hampton Court.

Items taken included cash, a laptop, shotgun, ammunition and CPAP machine, which helps breathing during sleep.

The shotgun, CPAP machine and other items were among the items found during the search warrants, Bascue said.

Southwind Arrests

Why can't GCPD solve the robbery cases as quick as FICO Sheriff's office? Oh I forgot GCPD is too busy picking up trash in the community.
