A preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a Garden City man accused of stabbing his ex-wife.
Gustavo Ramos-Beleta, 46, 206 W. Wesley St., is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated intimidation of a witness, two counts of criminal threat, intimidation of a witness, stalking, violation of a protection-from-abuse-order and child endangerment, according to Finney County Attorney John Wheeler.
A preliminary hearing was set for Friday and has been continued until March 24.
On Jan. 25, police received a 911 call from a man reporting that someone had broken into a residence at 606 Alfalfa St., Apt. 2, the residence of Ramos-Beleta's ex-wife.
Officers arrived at the residence and reportedly found Ramos-Beleta repeatedly stabbing Maria Castillo, 40. Ramos-Beleta was shot twice by one of the officers and taken to St. Catherine Hospital for gunshot wounds.
Castillo was taken to St. Catherine and treated for stab wounds.
The Finney County Attorney's Office reviewed the incident and determined the officer's use of force was justified.
