A Scott County woman died Wednesday morning as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident in Finney County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Marie Bruner, 53, Scott City, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet SUV northbound on U.S. Highway 83, 11 miles north of Garden City, at about 8:30 a.m.

Bruner lost control of the vehicle on the slippery road and the vehicle entered the west ditch where it rolled at least one time. The vehicle came to rest on the driver's side facing southwest.

Bruner was taken to St. Catherine Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:43 p.m.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

Alan D. Bruner, 57, Scott City, and Silvia Prieto-Acosta, Juarez, Mexico, passengers in the vehicle, were taken to St. Catherine Hospital with possible injuries. As of this morning, neither Alan D. Bruner or Prieto-Acosta were admitted at St. Catherine Hospital, according to staff.
