Finney County County Commissioners have denied a road closure request at a Holcomb convenience store along U.S. Highway 50.

Commissioners voted to deny a road closure request by Presta Oil, Inc., the company that owns the Presto convenience store at 7935 W. U.S. Highway 50, which filed a petition with the county in early September to vacate a portion of frontage road south of the property and parallel to the highway.

The vote, which took place at a Monday public hearing at the USD 363 district office in Holcomb following a road viewing at the site, was unanimous.

The county commissioners said they agreed with state transportation officials present Monday that granting the closure would inhibit public access to frontage roads.
