Thieves take copper wire

Garden City Police officers estimate more than $30,000 was lost from damage and theft involving copper wire in a series of burglaries at a local mobile home park.
Officers investigated a series of burglaries at Martin Mobile Home Inc., 4101 E. Highway 50, that occurred between Feb. 1 and Wednesday.
Park owner Rob Martin told officers someone forced entry into 11 vacant mobile homes. Once inside the mobile homes, the individual(s) damaged sheetrock to gain access to copper wire inside the walls.
An undetermined amount of copper wire was taken.
