Judy Fortner, a western Kansas native, will present her musical ministry at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 1007 N. 11th St.
Fortner, who now resides in Wichita, grew up on a farm near Pierceville. After graduating from Ingalls High School in 1966, she attended Kansas State University, Tabor College and Friends University in Wichita. Later in life, she obtained a master's degree in Christian ministry from Friends University.
Fortner says that earlier in her adult life, she got "off track" of following God and went through a time of running from God. She sang in night clubs and began living a lifestyle that she felt was not pleasing to God. After returning to God, she now tries to give back by sharing in song, hoping that people's lives will be touched.
