SPORTS: Holcomb girls win Scott City Invitational; Greeley County boys fall in final

The Holcomb Lady Longhorns won their first-ever Scott City Invitational title Saturday night with a 55-49 victory over the host Lady Beavers.

In the boys championship game, Greeley County fell to powerhouse private school Wichita Sunrise Christian Academy 58-36.

In other final day action at Scott City, in the boys division, it was Scott City defeating Holcomb, 63-51, for third place; Wichita County squeaked past Lakin, 64-63, to claim fifth place while Wichita Defenders defeated Wichita Independent, 81-76, in overtime for seventh place.

On the girls side of the remaining bracket, it was Wichita Sunrise over Greeley County, 54-45, for third place; Lakin stopped Wichita County, 49-42, to earn fifth place and Wichita Defenders barely got by Wichita Independent 50-48 in the seventh place game.
