Saturation patrol this weekend

Published 7/2/2009 in Local News : Police

The Garden City Police Department will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol from 11 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday within Garden City city limits.

The purpose of the saturation patrol is to saturate pre-designated areas with police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. The patrols also place an emphasis on speeding, safety belt and other alcohol-related violations.

The cost of the saturation patrol is covered through the Impaired Driving Deterrence Program grant given by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
