A Garden City teen who was found guilty of conspiracy to commit aggravated battery in a case involving the beating of another teen was granted two years probation Wednesday.

Michelle Salinas, 18, pleaded no contest in April to a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated battery for her role in the beating of 18-year-old Adam Rosas in December at H and H Trailer Park.

District Judge Robert Frederick sentenced her to 34 months in prison but granted her probation for 24 months, according to Finney County District Court documents. If Salinas violates any terms of her probation, she could have to serve her original sentence.

According to court documents, Salinas played a "minor, passive role" in the crime.

Salinas must pay $163 in court costs and restitution of $2,449.54 to the victim's family for medical expenses.

Salinas was one of 10 people who were charged in connection with the beating.

Salinas was the seventh person to be sentenced in the case. In the remaining cases, one individual faces sentencing, another has been certified to be tried as an adult and a motion to certify the last person in the case to be tried as an adult is currently under a judge's advisement.
