SPORTS: Scott City, Hugoton roll to playoff victories

Scott City and Hugoton, the top two-ranked teams in The Telegram's poll,  rolled to impressive Bi-District football victories Tuesday night in the opening round of the Kansas State playoffs.

Scott City easily handled Holcomb, 54-6, in Class 3A while Hugoton handed Clearwater a 35-12 setback in Class 4A action. Ulysses, the other 4A entrant, was blanked by Wellington, 21-0.

Lakin's Broncs were throttled by Norton, 62-22, in Class 3A, and Sublette suffered a 40-16 setback at the hands of Meade in Class 2A. In another 2A clash, Elkhart surprised LaCrosse 60-26.

In an Eight-Man Division I contest, Greeley County was ousted by Macksville, 28-18.
