The preliminary hearing for a Ulysses man charged with first-degree murder has been delayed.

Marcos Lomas, 23, whose preliminary hearing was set for Thursday in Grant County District Court, is now scheduled for Jan. 12, 2010, in Grant County.

Lomas is charged with one count of capital murder for allegedly killing Marcos and Hilda Garcia on Aug. 30, 2008. He also is charged with aggravated burglary for allegedly entering the couple's home with the intent to commit a felony.

He was arrested Aug. 23 after turning himself in.

The Kansas Attorney General's Office is handling the case.
