SPORTS: Busters men triumph; Lady Busters fall

By The TelegramChris Henry and Avery Jirmnson combined to hit 9-of-13 three-pointers en route to scoring 21 and 18 points to lead the Garden City Broncbusters men's basketball team to an 82-63 victory Saturday afternoon over Eastern Wyoming in the final day of the Laramie Classic.
The Lady Busters, meanwhile, saw their road trip to Enid, Okla. end with another tough loss, this one a 68-59 setback to Allen County on the final day of the Northern Oklahoma Classic.
Saturday's victory for the men improves the Busters record to 5-3 and they will be idle until Friday when they open the two-day Thanksgiving Classic at Perryman Athletic Complex.
Coach Kris Baumann's team shot a blistering 56 percent from the field and hit 10-of-12 free throws (83 percent) in posting their victory. Travis Burley added 10 points for the Busters.
For coach Alaura Sharp, the team's loss dropped the Lady Busters to 2-5. They will face New Mexico Junior College on Friday at 5:30 p.m. on the first day of the Classic.
