How Holcomb USD 363 should conduct the search for a new superintendent is on Monday night's Board of Education agenda.
Interim superintendent Demitry Evancho said the board will decide if it wants to hire a search service, such as the Kansas Association of School Boards, to look for a new superintendent.
The board also may choose to formally announce the vacancy internally and hire within. Evancho said he expects action will be taken on the item at Monday's meeting.
The board is looking for a new superintendent after former Superintendent Robert O'Connor resigned in September to take a job in Texas.
In new business, the board will review a facility use agreement policy, which stipulates who can use USD 363 facilities and whether there's a fee for the usage.
Evancho said the item will be discussed, and action possibly will be taken at the next meeting, pending public feedback.
The board also will consider allowing Garden City Community College to use classrooms at Holcomb High School for summer courses.
The board also will review its credit card authorization. Evancho said the current card is assigned to the superintendent, and the board will look at assigning that card to a business manager or clerk of the board.
In the superintendent's report, Evancho will talk about a variety of topics, including the Kansas Association of School Boards annual conference in December, the National School Board Association, and the status of hiring a Title 1 and fifth grade position.
When: 7:30 p.m. Monday
Where: Administrative Center, 305 Wiley St., Holcomb
