Although the weather has been too chilly for the swimming enthusiasts to give it much thought, the municipal pool is scheduled to open in about 30 days. This year the bathers will be greeted by greatly improved swimming facilities.
No longer will they be forced to don swimming suits at home, for the new concrete bathhouse will be ready for use by the opening day. They also must enter through the bathhouse and take a shower, since a fence circling the pool has been constructed.
Among other improvements, as listed by Police Chief Lee Richardson, are: new grass on the terraces which surround the pool, two new slides to replace the old ones, four 25-foot shade trees, already starting to leaf out, which have been planted on the terraces, a new spring board and the grading of ground which adjoins the terraces.
