TODAY, JAN. 30 Garden City Country Music Jamboree: 4 p.m. at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., with a potluck supper served at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted.
National Day of Prayer: Prayer conference featuring the National Day of Prayer, Operation Rolling Thunder/24/7 Prayer and the Spiritual State of the Union Tour with a bus tour of Kansas promoting prayer through all existing prayer groups, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Word of Life Church, 3004 N. Third St., with lunch on your own at local restaurants.
MONDAY, FEB. 1
Choir rehearsal: Garden City Symphony and Chorus is wanting to increase local participation for a performance of Handel's "Messiah" to be presented by the Garden City Symphony and Chorus on March 27 in Garden City. Performers also will combine efforts with the Dodge City Community Chorus to perform the "Messiah" at the historic Windthorst Church on March 28. Auditions are not required, just an interest in singing and a commitment to rehearsals. Rehearsals are 7 to 9 p.m. each Monday -- Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22, and March 1, 8 and 22 -- in the choir room (JOYC 1034) at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive. Musical program: Featuring Gale Seibert's Street Band, 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge.

"Once Upon a Wolf": Garden City Community College children's theater production, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 and 4 in the auditorium of the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building on campus, 801 Campus Drive. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children, with tickets available in the lobby box office one hour before each show and approximately one week in advance.
Dance: Featuring "The Blue Notes," 7:30 p.m. at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Open to the public.

Knowledge At Noon program: "Reflexology and Couples Foot Massage," 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St.

Ticket deadline for "Animal Attractions": Final day to purchase tickets for Lee Richardson Zoo's third annual Valentine's event set for Feb. 13 at the Finnup Center for Conservation Education. Tickets, at $60 a couple, are on sale now in the Finnup Center. The evening will include hors d'oeuvres, a pasta and cheesecake dessert bar, champagne and souvenirs. Participants must be 21 or older. St. Mary Catholic School Fun Night: Featuring games, prizes and silent auction baskets from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the gym at St. Mary's Center, 503 St. John, and a Mexican dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria. The dinner includes a taco, tostada, enchilada, rice, beans and empanadas at a cost of $7 for an adult plate and $4 for a child's plate. All proceeds go to St. Mary's PSO, which gives monetary support and helps to organize activities for St. Mary's students.

Garden City Community College Art Faculty Exhibition: Featuring paintings by David Kinder and ceramics by Brian McCallum in Mercer Gallery in the west wing of the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building on campus, 801 Campus Drive, with a public reception from 1 to 3 p.m. The exhibition continues through Feb. 21 with viewing hours of noon to 4 p.m. weekdays and 2 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Free admission.
