HR managers association to meet

Published 2/6/2010 in Business

The next monthly meeting of the Western Kansas Human Resource Managers Association will focus on employee handbooks.

A satellite chapter of the WKHRMA formed recently in Garden City to serve small business owners, human resource professionals and anyone else who deals with human resource issues in southwest Kansas.

The upcoming meeting is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Endowment Room of the Beth Tedrow Student Center at Garden City Community College, with the program on employee handbooks to be presented by Terry Mann of Martin Pringle, LLC.

A $10 monthly registration fee includes lunch. For individuals not currently members of the Society for Human Resource Management or WKHRMA, the registration fee will be waived for the first visit. It is not necessary to maintain membership SHRM, a national organization, to become a member in the local chapter.

SHRM is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. It maintains more than 560 affiliate chapters both in the U.S. and abroad and provides programming networking opportunities locally. SHRM is committed to advancing the profession through educational and career development opportunities, networking and community involvement. SHRM chapters are autonomous organizations.
