The "Coming Of Age In Rural America" series presented by the Kansas

Humanities Council's Talk About Literature in Kansas program kicks off

Saturday, with the first book in the four-part series discussed at 11

a.m. at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St.

Valerie Brown-Kuchera of Northwest Kansas Education Service Center in

Quinter will lead a discussion of "Farmer Boy" by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

This is the second book in Wilder's "Little House" series and recounts

her husband Almanzos' childhood growing up on a farm in New York.

The TALK book discussion series is provided by the KHC, a nonprofit

cultural organization with more than 40 years of experience promoting

understanding of the history and ideas that shape lives and build
