FCSCA dinner Friday
The Finney County Senior Citizens Association's covered dish dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St.
All persons 55 and older are invited to attend. Bring a covered dish and enjoy an evening of good food, fellowship and entertainment by "Deanne Crase and Friends."

Bake sale begins Friday at St. Dominic
St. Dominic Altar Society is having its annual bake sale from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in room one of St. Dominic Parish Center, 615 JC St.
Baked goods donations can be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the parish center.
All proceeds will go to support youth group activities in the parish.

Zoo begins winter hours on Friday
Lee Richardson Zoo will begin new winter hours on Friday.
The vehicle entrance gate will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors may stay until 5 p.m. Pedestrian gate hours remain 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
These hours will be in effect until April 1, 2014.
Admission fee is $10 per vehicle for non-member vehicles entering the zoo, which allows a vehicle to re-enter any time that day. Member vehicles are admitted free with a current membership card and photo identification. Pedestrians are always admitted free.
AFP hosts meeting
Americans for Prosperity-Kansas is hosting an informational meeting on at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Garden City Community College to discuss College and Career Ready Standards.
Kansas has adopted a new set of K-12 academic standards known as College and Career Ready Standards. The public is invited to hear from a panel of education experts as they discuss the impact of the new standards on students and teachers in Kansas.
Other informational meetings are scheduled to take place in other communities next week.

Topeka: 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Topeka Country Club.

Soup supper set for St. Catherine Hospital
St. Catherine Hospital will have its 15th Annual Soup Contest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in Classroom B at the hospital, 410 E. Spruce St.
Departments from the Cancer Center, Women's Clinic, Siena Medical and the hospital will compete for the "Golden Ladle" for best soup and best decorations. A variety of soups will be available for a $5 donation. All proceeds go to benefit the St. Catherine Hospital Associate Assistance Fund.
