Dodge City Community College President Don Woodburn recently recognized former DCCC Trustee Shane Bangerter for his years of service on the Board of Trustees.

Bangerter, who is originally from Leoti, resigned his trustee position at the last board meeting to accept a position on the Kansas Board of Regents.

Bangerter is a partner in the law firm of Rebein Bangerter Rebein of Dodge City. Bangerter was appointed to the DCCC Board of Trustee in 2007 to fill Carol Strobel's remaining term. He was re-elected as a trustee in 2011 for a four-year term.

Bangerter received his bachelor's degree from Oral Roberts University and then went on to graduate from the University of Kansas School of Law. While in law school, he clerked for the law offices of Mangan, Dalton, Trenkle, Rebein & Doll in Dodge City. After graduating from law school, Bangerter became an associate of that firm.

In 2003, Bangerter and Dave Rebein started their own law firm, Rebein Bangerter P.A.

Bangerter will be one of nine members to make up the Board of Regents, each of whom is appointed by the governor. Bangerter will serve a four-year term.
