Rachel Janae Banner and Scott Anthony Shultz, both of Garden City, were united in marriage on July 30, 2011, at Church of the Nazarene in Garden City. The 4 p.m., double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Jeff Crist. The ceremony was followed by a dinner and dance at the Knights of Columbus.

Rachel is the daughter of Larry and Janell Yeager of Dodge City, and Rick Banner of Garden City. She is the granddaughter of Steve and Wanda Parr of Garden City, and Lilly Robinson of Grants, N.M.

Scott is the son of Tim and Nora Shultz of Garden City. He is the grandson of Maria and the late Ramon Bazan of Holcomb, Nancy Shultz of Neodesha, and Robert and Marsha Shultz of Independence.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Nicole Lobmeyer. Junior bridesmaid was the bride's niece, Jade Lobmeyer. Both are from Durango, Colo. Bridesmaids were Clare Boaza of Wichita; Nicole Walz of Hays; Nichole Wilken of Leoti; and Lauren Mesa of Garden City.

Sean Shultz, the groom's brother, served at best man. Groomsmen included Johnnie Rodriguez and Chris Berry, both of Garden City; Trent Nichols of Deerfield; Angelo Luna of Spokane, Wash.; and Mason Stamps, the groom's cousin from Frisco, Texas.

The bride's niece and nephew, Chloe and Byron Lobmeyer of Durango, served as flower girl and boy. Candle lighters were Bo Banner, the bride's brother, and Emilio Parr, the bride's cousin, both of Garden City.

Ushers were the bride's brothers, Jace Banner of San Diego, and Bo Banner, and the groom's cousins, Anthony Bazan of Aurora, Colo., and Michael Bazan of Manhattan.

A special unity candle reading was performed by Jason Lobmeyer, the bride's brother-in-law from Durango.

The bride, a full-time wife and mother, is a 2008 graduate of Garden City High School.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Deerfield High School. He received his certification in automotive mechanics technology in 2007 and a certification in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration in 2008 from Seward County Community College Area Technical School. He is employed by Weber refrigeration, heating and air conditioning.

The newlyweds are at home in Garden City.
