Get help navigating Affordable Care Act
A program designed to help the community navigate the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is being offered from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Feb. 7 at Garden City Community College.
The Urban League of Kansas and Liberty Benefit Consultants is offering the program. This partnership aims to supply clients with correct information regarding their specific needs, educate them about the products available, tax credits and subsidies, as well as assist with enrollment.
"We are seeing a lot of apathy in Garden City and western Kansas concerning the ACA enrollment. The deadline is getting near, and many people will face penalties from not getting informed or enrolling for health coverage. We hope to stop that with the two events scheduled this month and next," said Frank Taylor, marketing manager with Liberty Benefit Consultants.
The program is free to the public and no appointment is needed to attend. Those who do attend should plan to bring a valid, state-issued ID and their last year's tax returns.
For more information, contact Samantha Raulsten at (316) 440-9246.
