One of the best senior classes in Moscow school history departed a year ago following a successful run in football, basketball and baseball. Their legacy has been left intact and Moscow boys basketball coach Brett Harp hopes that success will rub off on this year's youthful group of Wildcats.
That successful senior group posted a 15-5 record and Harp has just one senior returner in 6-0 Ismael Flores. Raymundo Garcia, a 6-2 junior, also returns with limited varsity experience.
Three sophomores will be expected to step in and play big minutes and roles for the Wildcats. That group includes 5-10 guard Breck Roop, 6-0 forward Osvaldo Granillo and 5-11 guard Jonathan Manriquez.
The top newcomer will be 6-0 junior Alfredo Cantu.
"We are very young and inexperienced," Harp said. "We have a good core of players, but we will be very limited by our bench. The kids work very hard, so we'll see what happens with the season."

With several players gaining varsity experience a year ago during an 8-14 season, first-year Lady Wildcat coach Travis Johnson can look forward to improvement for this season.
Despite not having a lot of height, the Lady Wildcats will rely on a fast break offense, pressing defense and its outside shooting to be successful.
Heading the list of returners is 5-4 sophomore Emmy Hittle along with 5-4 sophomore Tessa Whitham, 5-6 sophomore Alex Davidson, 5-6 senior Mikala Anton and 5-4 junior Mackenzie Dobie, all of whom saw playing time a year ago.
"We're a young team but we're looking forward to a great year," said Johnson of his team that lost in the Class 1A regional first round last year.
Other newcomers that Johnson will look to for depth include senior Lisa Warren, junior Emily White (5-0 guard) and freshmen Rebeca Cecenas and Briannah Bucher.
