The Finney County United Way, Finney County Young Professionals, GCHS Freshman Ambassadors and Student Council, and Garden City Community College student organizations are wrapping up a food drive Thursday.
The organizations have been accepting food donations to help assist with stocking the food pantries of the Salvation Army, United Methodist Mexican-American Ministries, Family Crisis Services and St. Catherine Hospital's Benincasa House since Oct. 1.
The organizations are picking up the food items donated at the high school at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Food can be dropped off at UMMAM, 224 N. Taylor Ave.; United Way, 1511 Fulton Terrace; GCHS; or Garden City Community College. To have your donations picked up, call 275-1425 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Suggested items include boxed dinners, microwave meals, peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, muffin mix, soup, tuna, canned meats, canned fruit, canned vegetables, coffee, tea, cereal, powdered milk, oatmeal, rice, beans, macaroni, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce.
