EMPORIA - The tradition-rich Rebels pulled away late in the fourth quarter thanks to some timely free-throw shooting at crunch time.

South Gray (23-1) led 43-40 midway through the final period but scored18 of the final 28 points to secure a spot in the semifinals Friday against Macksville.

The Rebels threatened to put the game away multiple times, but the Wolves, playing 17 miles from home at White Auditorium, battled back.

South Gray led 13-9 after the first quarter and 25-24 at the half before pushing the advantage to 39-33 at the end of the third.

Lebo (18-5) pulled with 51-48 on Alex Linsey's 3-pointer with 2:28 left, but South Gray hit 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch.
