Katie Poland and Boone Burnside, both of Manhattan, were married June 1, 2013, at Lyona United Methodist Church in ]unction City. Pastor Carol Moore Ramey officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony.
The bride's parents are John and Mary Poland of Junction City. The groom is the son of Joe and Jana Burnside of Garden City.
Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Amy Walker of Grandview, Mo. Bridesmaids were Neely Burnside, the groom's sister from Dallas; Joanna Freed of Wichita; and Ashley Junghans of Overland Park.
Best man was the groom's brother, Blake Burnside of Garden City. Groomsmen were Michael Poland, the bride's brother from Manhattan; Jeff Koksal of Salina; and Brett Koons of Camdenton, Mo.
The flower girl was Avery Will of Colorado Springs, Colo. Ringbearer was Jake Koksal of Salina.
Serving as ushers were Nick Beckman, Jeremy Jacobs and Ryan Walker.
Candle lighters were McKenzie Young-Robison and Ashton Young. Violinists were Megan Poppe and Elizabeth Poppe.
Readers for the ceremony were Michael Holton and Justin Meek. The guest book attendants were Abby Anderes and Sarah Poland.
The ceremony was followed by a dinner and dance reception at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Chapman High School and a 2006 graduate of the American Academy of Cosmetology in Manhattan. She is employed by Hair Experts in Manhattan.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of Garden City High School and a 2006 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in construction science and management. He is employed by BHS Construction in Manhattan.
After a honeymoon trip to the Dominican Republic, the newlyweds are at home in Manhattan.
