TALK program offers discussion on book
The Kansas Humanities Council's Talk About Literature in Kansas (TALK) program continues at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St.
Steven Foulke, an associate professor of history from Ottawa University, will lead a discussion of "Winter Wheat" by Mildred Walker, the third book in the four-part "Coming Of Age In Rural America" series. The book chronicles the story of a girl living on a dry wheat ranch in Montana in the early 1940s.

Moran slated to attend Lions Club
Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan, will attend the Lions Club meeting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the east meeting room of the Clarion Inn and Conference Center, 1911 E. Kansas Ave. The public is encouraged to attend.
Moran will be available after the meeting to visit with the public.

YMCA Boot Camp starts again next week
The Garden City Family YMCA will start Session 22 of Boot Camp on Monday.
The four-week class will meet from 5:45 to 6:45 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost is $30 for members and $60 for program participants. The high-intensity, total body workout will be taught by Ivan Gonzalez, an ANSI Crossfit Level 1 coach who spent four years in the Marine Corps.

Deadline approaches for photo exhibition
Entries are now being accepted for the 7th Annual Sunflower Showcase Photography Fest. Entry deadline is Dec. 1.
Three amateur age divisions and a professional division allow everyone to enter. An entry fee of $3.25 per photo is due with entries.
Entries will be exhibited in the Gallery at the Hays Public Library during January, as well as online at www.SunflowerShowcaseOnline.com.
