Spring break begins Monday

Garden City Community College's spring break is from Monday through March 21. During that period, no daytime or evening classes will take place. Staff personnel will remain on the job, and most campus offices and facilities will remain open to serve the public Monday and Wednesday, but the campus will be completely closed Thursday and Friday, March 20 and 21.

The closing also applies to Saffell Library, which will be open 8 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and closed Thursday and Friday, March 21. In addition, the GCCC Adult Learning Center and Access and Opportunity Center will be open Monday and Wednesday and closed Thursday and Friday, March 21.

The Aerobic Super Circuit in the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex will be open during spring break. Spring break hours are 5:30 to 8 a.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 to 8 a.m. Friday and 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

All classes and regular office and facility hours will resume March 24.

Moonshiners set for St. Patrick's Day

A St. Patrick's Dance featuring "The Moonshiners" will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Lodge, U.S. Highway 83 and Mary Street.

Cost is $5 at the door. The dance, sponsored by Art Green, is open to the public. There will be a prize for the Best Green Costume.
