Crystal Staats and Scott Blanton, both of Asbury, Mo., were married July 16, 2011, at Scottish Rite Cathedral in Joplin, Mo. The Rev. Joe Tomassi officiated the 5 p.m., double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Diane Staats of Garden City. Her grandparents are the late Frank and Gloria Staats, and Elizabeth Schaffer.
The groom is the son of Carl and Kelli Blanton of Joplin. His grandparents are the late Chester and Melba Blanton of Tulsa, Okla.
Maid of honor was Amanda Staats, the bride's sister from Garden City. Best man was Craig Blanton, the groom's brother from Asbury.
Veronica Higerd, the bride's niece from Gem, was the flower girl. Caden Blanton, the groom's nephew from Asbury, was the ringbearer.
A reception, dinner and dance, given by the bride's parents, followed at the Jack Lawton Webb Convention Center in Joplin. Assistants were the bride's sisters, Nathalie Higerd, Amanda Staats, Alicia Staats, Vanessa Staats and Leah Staats.
The bride graduated from Garden City High School in 1999, from Garden City Community College in 2001 and from Pittsburgh University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in family and consumer sciences with an emphasis in interior design. She is employed as an assistant manager and in-house designer at Sherwin Williams in Joplin.
The groom attended Salina High School. He is a dragstripe technician at Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, they are at home in Asbury.
