Some of you may receive a Medicare Satisfaction Survey in the mail. This is a legitimate survey funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal government agency that manages the Medicare program. The purpose of this survey is to learn more about the experiences the people with Medicare have obtaining the health care and services through the Medicare program. This year the survey also will include questions about the Medicare prescription drug plan, if you have one. The information collected in this study will be used to plan better programs for people with Medicare, as well as to prepare informational materials that people with Medicare can use when choosing a health or prescription drug plan in the future. Your opinions are valuable because they also represent those of other people like you who have Medicare, a Medicare Advantage health plan and/or a Medicare prescription drug plan.
You do not have to participate in this survey, and if you do participate you do not have to answer any questions that you do not want to answer. Your help is voluntary, and your decision to participate or not to participate will not affect any of the Medicare benefits you now receive or expect to receive in the future. There is nothing to buy and no one will come to your home.
