Aubrey Folk and Shawn Sparks, both of Lawrence, were married April 21, 2012, at First Southern Baptist Church in Lawrence. The 5 p.m., double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Randy Johnson.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Cherie Folk of Satanta. Her grandparents are Beverly Jewell of Claflin; Max Folk of Holyrood; and the late Howard and Dolores Kukula of Claflin.

Parents of the groom are Terry and Cheryl Sparks of Iola. His grandparents are Duane and Frieda Nelson of Leawood; and Wesley and Wanda Sparks of Kirksville, Mo.

Maid of honor was Kelli Folk, the bride's sister from Prairie Village. Bridesmaids were Amanda Merz of Holcomb; Amy Grant of Satanta; Danielle Wurtz of Loveland, Colo.; and Tiffany Jensen of Edmond, Okla.

The best men were the groom's brothers, Ryan Sparks of Ottawa, and Eric Sparks of Emporia. Groomsmen were Brett Larson of Manhattan; Scott Rexwinkle of Groveland, Calif.; Dustin Brock and Antoine Polite, both of Lawrence; Brad Johnson of Silver Lake; and Josh Mellberg of Tucson, Ariz.

Scripture reader was Max Folk, the bride's brother from Anchorage.

Music was provided by "The Oread Strings," a string quartet from Lawrence. Selections included "Arioso" "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," "Bridal Chorus," "Ave Marie" and "Wedding March."

The ceremony was followed by a reception at The Granada in Lawrence. Assistants were John and Connie Miller, the bride's uncle and aunt from Claflin.

The bride graduated from Satanta High School and earned bachelor of fine arts and master of science degrees from Emporia State University. She is a Realtor with Stephens Real Estate, Lawrence.

The groom graduated from Iola High School and earned a bachelor degree in business finance from Kansas State University. He is vice president of marketing with Advisors Excel, Topeka.

After a wedding trip to New Zealand and Bora Bora, the newlyweds are at home in Lawrence.
