The Garden City High School baseball team lost a pair of one-run games Tuesday at Ulysses. The Tigers swept the visiting Buffaloes in the first game, 3-2, after having given up two runs in the first inning only to climb back and get the game-winner in the bottom of the eighth.

In Game 2, Ulysses never trailed on its way to a 10-9 victory. The Tigers scored two runs in each of the first four innings to take a 8-2 lead. Garden City responded with a four-run fifth inning to make it 8-6 and tied it up at 8 in the top of the sixth.

However, Ulysses scored a pair of runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning and held Garden City to just one run in the top of the seventh to secure the sweep.

Garden City will be off for a week with its next game being May 6 when the Buffs host Liberal at Clint Lightner Field.
