The Garden City Recreation Commission is hosting its Second Annual Garden City Gauntlet Obstacle 5K Run on Sept. 28.

Registration begins at noon, and waves begin at 1 p.m. in the

southeast parking lot of the Finney County Expo Center, Garden City,

just off of North Ninth Street.

The Gauntlet is not your average 5k run. Be prepared to battle

through tough terrain, climb, jump, crawl, and of course, run through a

variety of obstacles.

There is $35 registration fee and includes a Gauntlet survivor T-shirt and a finisher's medal.

Awards for the overall top male and female finishers, as well as the first place male/female for each age group will be awarded.

Age groups are from 16 to 20, 21 to 30, 31 to 40, 41 to 50, 51 to 60, 61 to 70, 71 to 80 and 81 to 90.

Start waves will be determined in order of registrations received. If

you would like to be in a wave with specific participants, please send

registration in together and indicate their names on the registration

form. Forms can be obtained online at
