Whitney Stevens and Travis Merritt, both of New Braunfels, Texas, were married Sept. 28, 2013, at the 3S Ranch in Seguin, Texas. The groom's father, Jack Merritt, officiated the single-ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Mike Stevens and Kim Stevens, both of Sublette. Her grandparents are Melva Smith and the late Ivan Smith of Hill City; and Jo Ann Stevens and the late Dick Stevens of Sublette.

The groom is the son of Jack and Phyllis Merritt of Woodway, Texas. His grandparents are the late Jack and Mildred Merritt; and the late Harold and Philo May Gregory.

Bridesmaids were Allison Stevens of Austin, Texas; Kayla Beck of Oxford, Miss.; Shalee Lehning of Manhattan; Shelby Griffin of Alan, Texas; Amanda Walker of San Marcos, Texas; and Christina Mackie of Tempe, Ariz.

Groomsmen were Greg Merritt of Silver City, N.M.; Phil Henderson of New Braunfels; and David Irvin of Waco, Texas.

Emmerson and Elsa Beck of Oxford were the flower girls. Ringbearer was Maddox Beck of Oxford.

Serving as ushers were Jeremy Copeland of Dallas; and Justin Upshaw of New Braunfels.

Music was provided by the Unity Singers, Ron Brietzke and Wes Mings of New Braunfels. Selections included "Wedding Song," "Sunshine On My Shoulders," "Only Love Is Real" and "Happy Together."

The ceremony was followed by a reception at 3S Ranch.

The bride graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and from Bastyr University with a master's degree in nutrition. She is a registered dietitian and personal trainer.

The groom graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in English and from Texas State Technical College with a degree in landscape and golf course management. He is a landscaper.

After a wedding trip to Maui and Big Island, Hawaii, the newlyweds are at home in New Braunfels.
